VISION
The Empowerment Academy is an institution dedicated to excellence in academics and the arts:

Academic Excellence: All scholars will be at or above grade level in reading and math.

Excellence in the Arts: By the time scholars leave the 8th grade, scholars will demonstrate proficiency in an arts discipline through performance or portfolio.

The vision and mission of the Empowerment Academy is to put students, educators and families at the center of learning
and to provide a program of education excellence to all students, their families and the community. “Literacy Through the Arts”
is the theme for our instructional program. The “arts” are integrated throughout all curriculum areas with students actively engaged in learning each day. Each artistic discipline maintains a rich body of knowledge that enables students to understand their works in ways that support and enhance their learning in other core subjects as well.
As a charter school focusing on Literacy Through the Arts, we provide a supplemental “arts” programs
for our students which include visual art, dance, theater, and music. Due to this focus, students’ academics are enhanced,
their interest and learning styles and tapped, and skills in the arts are cultivated.
Our school is currently dealing with several financial difficulties and while we are giving our best efforts,
we still need help from our community. Your help is very crucial to our longstanding efforts in providing a quality education
to children in under-served areas of the city.
